Center for Business and Entrepreneurial Development (CBED) was registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 on December 28, 2005 with the main objective to improve the economic well-being of the poor and to strengthen civil society through promotion of community-based organizations with a special focus to promote self-reliant cooperatives, farmer-owned and managed marketing and other livelihood support activities. The organization has unique strength in establishing, promoting and strengthening of producer and farmer cooperatives under the Self Reliant Cooperative Act. CBED has competence in Cooperative management, training of co-operative members and collective business development as well as in agribusiness development using improved farming practices, product promotion, collective marketing activities. Organization has formed more than 50 cooperative in the four districts of Uttarakhand, Tehri, Rudraprayag, Champawat and Pithoragarh.
