Livelihood

CBED works with the main objective to reduce poverty in hill districts of Uttarakhand by enabling rural households to take up sustainable livelihood opportunities integrated with the wider economy.  The organization presently has staff working on different capacities for community marketing and agribusiness development, integrated economic and health literacy and institutional strengthening of the hill farming community. The organization has trained community leaders, farmers and entrepreneurs as master trainers in economic community development activities. Cooperatives and federations set up by us are helping in improving the livelihoods of the rural households. Most of these are engaged in handicraft, vegetable farming, fruit processing and value addition of local produce.
